Fall is one of my favorite times of year (next to summer and Christmas Eve of course) full of so many wonderful treats - pumpkin waffles, pumpkin spiced lattes, and pumpkins themselves!! Due to unfortunate (read - lazy) circumstances I actually haven't carved a pumpkin in YEARS! Luckily Boone Hall Plantation has a wonderful pumpkin patch (as well as a variety of family-friendly activities) that are quite lovely and fairly cheap. I bought a largish pumpkin, a smallish pumpkin, two carving tools, and a Halloween door sign all for $11.
My complicated steps, if you would like to follow along, were:
- Cut the top of the pumpkin
- Scoop out all the guts
- Sketch details
- Carve the rest of the pumpkin
