Ski resort logos are at times very boring. A snowflake? ... how original. But those logos are almost as ingrained as those of sports teams. Messing with that legacy would probably damage the brand overall, even if it meant introducing a swanky new mark with clean lines. Take Alta's logo for instance: as boring as they come, yet iconic. Breckenridge manages to subtly reference skis and smooth lines down the slopes in a very classic manner.
Other ski ephemera is similarly hit or miss. Yet as an active practitioner of the sport I find I am constantly surprised by the quality I find in the most random of materials, such as this napkin of all things. Especially fascinating is how all winter sport related material tries to walk a fine line between obnoxiously loud colors, and clean elegance.
