Since I didn't have too big of a holiday budget to spend on gifts I decided to make a little something for friends and family. Candles turned out to be cost effective and easy to personalize! Getting all of the supplies was the most annoying part, but with help from this awesome color blocking tutorial actually making the candles was a lot of fun.
The packaging was another fun project. I used these favor boxes and tags (which I painted black for a rich texture) from PaperSource. The snowflake is a stamp I carved using this kit from SpeedBall and ColorBox white archival pigment ink (also purchased at PaperSource). Before I stamped the snowflakes I painted the boxes with iridescent acrylic medium, which did dry nicely but I had to heat set the white ink with an embossing heat tool in order for it to dry thoroughly on top of the acrlyic. I'd definitely stamp the snowflakes first, and then use iridescent medium if I were to do this again.
